Tuesday

A bunch of links to share with you today:

  • These two go together, as it was part of an e-mail thread sent around today. First, ladies and gentlemen, I'll introduce you to Neil Fingleton, the tallest actor in the world.

  • Next, I'll introduce you to the Eagle Tribune article that talks about my friend Brad playing his balls off against him on the basketball court. Yes, Brad sent me this article today. Apparently he has it bookmarked.
  • Here's a Q & A with "Outliers" author Malcolm Gladwell, who has been linked here before. He talks about how once-in-a-lifetime athletes really get to become once-in-a-lifetime athletes.
  • This "Day Without a Gay" thing is incredible. Imagine "calling in gay"? The point, I guess is to focus on how important gays and lesbians are to the workforce. But what if there was a "call in male" day? Nothing would get done. What about a "call in female day"? The only thing that would change is that my dinner would be on time. Just saying.
  • This is just a side note, but why do these car companies need money to be bailed out? $15 Billion? Really? A. People aren't going to stop buying cars and B. if the opposite is true, why make new cars if no one will buy them? Won't we just have to bail you out again next year?

(Speaking of cars, there's nothing I hate more than the commercials like, "show your husband or wife you really love them by buying them a BMW this Christmas." First of all, no one does that. Second of all, if the wife buys the husband a new car, doesn't he essentially pay for it? "thanks, honey, for a Christmas gift I get to spend $55,000 on...")
  • Jim's take? "I hate the diamond commercials more than the car commercials. What kind of homo dresses and acts the way these men do? They are definitely calling in gay tomorrow."
  • Lastly, I should link the best Bruins beat writer Kevin Dupont for his article last night. Keep up the good work, Kevin. We all know the Bruins are awesome this year, right?
