Celtics opener

The banner goes up and the quest for #18 begins this evening, my friends!!



In honor of the drive for #18, here are 18 things I'm either excited about, terrified about, or not so scared about this upcoming season:

Things I'm excited about:

• Banner #17 being raised. There may be tears.
  
• Seeing Derrick Rose play for the Bulls. I love him in Memphis.
  
• The return of Dwyane Wade. I loved him in the Olympics.
  
• Everyone finally believing me that Chris Paul is the best point guard in the NBA.
  
• James Posey going to the Hornets and pushing them in with the Lakers as the top team in the West. Believe it.
  
• Watching the Knicks with D'Antoni (some of those guys were meant to play in his system).
• Another season watching Kevin Durant progress.
• Greg Oden.
• Everyone gearing up the Ricky Rubio era to begin next year.
  

Things that terrify me:

• The Lakers with Bynum.
• Manu being healthy and rested. The Spurs usually take a year or so off anyway.
  
• The Rockets gelling (I don't think they will; Yao is not right for that system and he is their best player).
• LeBron James & the rest of the NBA gunning for my guys.
• The Mavericks finally having a good coach in Rick Carlisle.
• Tony Allen running a fast-break
  

Things that don't scare me, but might eventually:

• The 76ers playing well (they played the Celtics tough last year).
• The Magic fulfilling their potential.
• The Washington Wizards.
